Thanks to Taryn from Design, Dining, and Diapers for putting this great summer entryway blog hop together – I just love her style, and there’s so many of my favorite bloggers in this loop! You’ll be inspired by each and every one of their homes.
Ah sweet summertime. We’re working on embracing all summer has to offer this year – lots of unstructured playtime, getting dirty in our gardens, and taking long leisurely walks around our neighborhood.
Learn how to make your own fiddle leaf fig plant – it’s SO simple!
For the first time since 2012, I’m not pregnant/nursing/babywearing, etc. over the summer. As much as I love certain things about those stages, it’s freeing to be able to play with my kiddos this year! We’re taking a purposefully slow approach to this summer and I couldn’t feel better about it.
I’m working on clearing our calendar, and I’m also going to be taking a cleaner approach to our home decor. I’m craving simplicity lately, and I’m excited to host a big yard sale this summer to get rid of lots of clutter I’ve been hoarding in our attic/basement/garage.
I’m working on only keeping things we need or use regularly, and holding onto things I truly love in our home.
I’m *thrilled* flowers are actually blooming & thriving in our baby gardens (would you look at those peonies?!) I’ll be sharing our front porch and gardens tomorrow, so make sure you come back to see how much it’s grown!
This entryway is usually filled with dirty shoes (you can see them piled in our reclaimed wood box I got a few months ago) and there’s usually wet clothes from when my kids played at the water table and in the garden hose. It’s not the neatest way to welcome people into our home, but I think it’s comforting.

So here’s to simple summers – I hope you take some time to embrace simplicity this season. Whether that’s in your schedule, your mind, your home decor, your commitments…I challenge you to try to step back just a little and see how it feels. I bet you’ll be thankful you did
Now take a minute and come by my friend’s summer entryway – Krista from The Happy Housie has some beautiful ideas in her home and she’s one of my favorite bloggers!
