Farmhouse Entry Inspiration

We’ve been working hard on finishing up our entryway/hallway in our 1902 Victorian!  If you follow along on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve seen some sneak peeks.  I can’t wait to share the final reveal with you soon!

I’ve finally figured out that we’re doing a fun combination of Victorian and Farmhouse styles.  We obviously have the existing Victorian house to work with, but it’s not a typical Victorian. It’s definitely more casual, and the farmhouse décor is really fun to incorporate into our space.  It’s worked SO well in our kitchen, so I’m fully embracing it in our hallway and entryway as well.

Of course, my style idol is the amazingly talented Joanna Gaines.  I mean, who isn’t Fixer Upper obsessed these days? I think these looks below would make her proud!

Here’s an idea of where we’re heading with this space – and how you can get the look in your home as well.

The Farmhouse touch:

To me, the “farmhouse touch” is cozy, uncluttered but lived-in, and has a timeless feel.  It incorporates wood in various tones, metal (especially copper and matte black), handmade items, and vintage pieces.  It’s also got a lot of texture – shiplap, wood walls, wood ceilings, beams, etc.  I am incorporating this in the most exciting ways in my home – can’t wait to share!

We’re going to be combining one of my all-time favorite metals (COPPER!) with a classic barn black light and a nod to a vintage school house pendant.  I am so excited to show you how they all play together in this hallway!

Farmhouse Accent Furniture:

Our space doesn’t actually allow for too much furniture, but if I had more room, I would absolutely try to accommodate lots of these pieces into my space.

Farmhouse wall décor: I like to think of this as the jewelry, or the icing on the cake.  This is the really fun part where you can play with different items and get creative with pairing things together.
