We’ve been living in our 1902 Victorian for almost one year now, and we’re finally finishing up one of our last big pieces of this renovation – the hallway & entryway! I am so excited to share this space with you that we’ve worked so hard on. I’ve been sharing sneak peeks on my Instagram & Facebook pages, and I’m so happy to have this space completed. Now we don’t have to welcome people into our house with a construction zone either – huge bonus!
We have worked with the existing structure of our Victorian home, restored what we could, and have added a farmhouse flair. It makes for a visually interesting & collected feel that I am in love with!
Come on in to our home…

Let’s start in the entryway. We painted our front door & two interior doors with Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron. I love how the original copper hardware shines against this gray!

We planked the walls in the entryway to hide some badly cracked plaster and to add that farmhouse character we love:

We picked that adorable antiqued copper sconce to play off of the existing copper – I seriously love it!
Oh what a difference a year makes…

Let’s walk into the hallway:

I love the mix of old & new, wood & neutrals in this space! I got this mirror new from Raymour & Flanigan (I got it in their showroom, it’s not available online, but they have SO many statement mirrors to choose from!)

This mirror reflects our reclaimed door – it was actually from my parent’s lake house. It was taken out when they added on to the house a few years ago, and I’m SO glad they saved it! I hung it on this hardware (the best price I’ve found for barn door hardware!)

Now – let’s look up for a minute. Did you notice our WOOD CEILING? We took a big risk with this, and it turned out better than I could have imagined!

We used a product called Stikwood (I used the reclaimed Sierra Gold color). I want to do a whole separate post on this stuff because it’s kind of incredible. The short story: it’s real reclaimed wood, planed down really thin, and acts like a super strong sticker. You peel off paper and stick the adhesive on your surface – lots of people use it for accent walls. We finished off the ceiling with crown molding, and *love* how it turned out!
In our kitchen, we installed a wood planked ceiling, so I love how it plays off of that and adds some character to both spaces.
This space before you get to our kitchen is just so sweet. I love this black wall sconce & the sign I won on Instagram from this shop (you’ll love it!):

It looks right into our kitchen (see makeover pictures of that space here):

If you head up the stairs, you’ll see all of our bedrooms. I love the Barn Light Electric light we put at the top of the stairs, and the clock I got from the Raymour & Flanigan showroom (see all of their clocks & wall decor available online)

We added one more giant mirror to this big wall – it really helps to lighten up the space and make it feel more open.

As always, I have things I’d like to add eventually (a runner on the stairs, a gallery wall upstairs, maybe a bench downstairs?) But for now? I am so in love with this space!
